Rubicon 10th anniversary and moab editions join lineup. introductionthe jeep wrangler is arguably older than anything beyond pickup trucks, tracing its roots to field duty 70 years ago. Wrangler has been modernized with a contemporary engine, electronics inside and underneath, and the body panels are now artfully curved for stiffness while appearing flat. however, the wrangler remains the most maneuverable and trail capable vehicle from a showroom and will go places most owners don't dare drive. The delta in wheelbase (the distance from front wheel center to rear) is similar to that between a regular cab and crew cab pickup. heated leather upholstery is available for wrangler. No jeeper ever had it quite like this. all wranglers are powered by chrysler's 24-valve 3. 6-liter v6, here rated at 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. There's a choice of 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission. Indeed, they will travel the interstate with a modicum of comfort and civility but that's not what they're built for. Wranglers are better suited to all-weather urban runabouts, those living on a beach or off the grid or beaten path, or for those whose idea of a freeway is a fast section of dry wash or graded dirt run in 2wd. The removable hardtop comes off in three pieces, a pair of t-tops with a sunroof over the rear seat. The 2012 chevy silverado doesn't boast the latest design, but all the current full-size pickups are good and it mostly comes down to preference. Silverado is available in a wide range of sizes, engines, and capabilities. Most important: stabilitrak electronic stability control adds trailer sway control and hill-start assist. 2012 chevy silverado wt models now come standard with cruise control and a spare tire lock. Heated and cooled front seats and hdd navigation with xm radio and usb are available on the 2012 silverado ltz. 2012 silverado models get new colors and chrome trim changes. Silverado was last redesigned for 2007. the base engine is a 4. 3-liter v6 (195 hp/260 lb-ft of torque) with a 4-speed automatic, offered only on regular cabs and 2wd extended cab models with the standard bed. Xfe versions feature aerodynamic upgrades in the form of a soft bed cover and extended front air dam, plus aluminum wheels (including the spare) and lower front suspension arms, locking rear differential, and low rolling resistance tires. A trailering package is standard so xfe models can tow up to 7,000 pounds. silverado hybrid, available only in the crew cab body style and tow trim levels, uses a 6. 0-liter v8 (332 hp/367 lb-ft of torque), battery pack, and 4-speed automatic with two electric motors in it. 2014 chevrolet impala review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Originally launched as a 1958 model, the impala name boasts a long, storied history. Though of late it was often dismissed as a mediocre rental car, the impala is back with a vengeance, sporting a sophisticated design, high-quality interior and spot-on driving dynamics. chevrolet is now calling the five-passenger impala a full-size sedan, though it was previously classified as a midsize. The 2014 impala is front-wheel drive and shares gm's epsilon platform with the buick lacrosse, buick regal, cadillac xts and chevrolet malibu. three engine choices range from powerful to practical. General motors' familiar direct injection 3. 6-liter v6 is the beefiest of the bunch, with 305 horsepower and 264 pound-feet of torque. A 2. 5-liter ecotec inline-4 makes 196 hp and 145 lb.-ft., while a 2. 4-liter inline-4 with gm's eassist mild hybrid system is good for 182 hp and 172 lb.-ft. All variants use gm's 6-speed hydra-matic transmission. The v6 will roll off the assembly line first, followed 2. 5-liter 4-cylinder, with the eassist version expected a few months after that. epa fuel economy ratings for the v6 are 19/29 mpg city/highway. By way of comparison, the old impala got an epa-estimated 18/29 mpg with its standard 3. 5-liter v6 and 17/27 mpg with the bigger, 3. 9-liter v6. better aerodynamics help the 2014 impala with fuel economy, in part aided by new wind blockers positioned in front of the tires, which look like mud flaps put on the wrong way. Tail lamps start tall on the outer edges and narrow as they point inward. They have a raised detail that are not only visually interesting, but serve as aerodynamic aids to keep air flowing off the vehicle, rather than around it. Small touches like these help with fuel economy and with reducing wind noise in the cabin. The rear bumper is big and beefy, and exposed exhaust tips on ltz models have a chrome-like finish with an almost rectangular shape. interiorthe cabin of the 2014 impala is attractive and comfortable, with very good fit and finish and materials quality. the center stack is well laid out and has many controls without using an overwhelming number of buttons. Concave doors give more space, sometimes too much depending on the size of the driver or passenger.
